Passementerie Weaving Workshop

Passementerie is the craft of creating decorative trimmings such as braids, fringes, tassels, and cords, traditionally used to embellish clothing and interiors. In this hands-on workshop, we will look at a selection of historical designs and will explore the techniques of handwoven passementerie. Each participant will have the opportunity to weave small samples on a shaft loom, learning how different patterns and structures are created while experimenting with a variety of materials. The workshop offers an introduction to this traditional craft, while encouraging participants to develop their own variations and ideas.
