Loom Music

Loom Music is a hybrid creation, documenting the process of weaving through a musical lens. A performance that is rich visually and sonically. I incorporate textile history, my own experience with being a weaver and my relationship to textile production. Usually drawing inspiration from traditional Greek music and creating versions of those folk songs with the loom, for the loom to accompany the process of weaving. It is one part live weaving, witnessing the process of fabric being made and one part using the loom as a percussive instrument. I touch on themes of feminism, industrial revolution, workers rights and more.
