Tour through the Textile Centre Haslach - Fri, 18 July, 1 - 3 pm (registration required)
Since 2019 the homebase of ETN is located at the Textile Centre Haslach. In the Museum of Weaving (which is part of the Textile Centre Haslach) one can see the process from the fibre to the finished fabric on running machines, and immerse oneself into the world of colours, materials and patterns. The museum had a long tradition, before it was moved in 2012 to the Textile Centre Haslach which also houses small businesses and workshops, educational facilities and special textile exhibitions. The Museum of Weaving has been awarded the Austrian Museum Prize in 2014 for its innovative Concept.
The impressive exhibits illustrate the complex process from preparing the flax to the finished linen as well as the development from hand looms to jacquard loom. Textile materials and techniques can be GRASPED literally and experienced with all senses. Visitors are invited to investigate the materials of their own clothing, to develop patterns, find out interesting things about contemporary material and think about current issues of global economy.
Equipment and machines of the museum are operated in the course of a guided tour. They are also used for producing merchandise for the museum shop. Interested people have an opportunity to see the modern machines on the production floor of the Textile Centre Haslach.
