Venue 12: BPF Ethnological Museum in Nafplio (Basil Papantoniou Foundation)
The BPF Ethnological Museum is located in the heart of the port city of Nafplio, the former capital of Greece.
It was founded by Ioanna Papantoniou, a Greek stage and costume designer and a prominent researcher of Greek folk culture. She was particularly interested in traditional Greek clothing and spent many years collecting folk costumes, traditional clothing, and other everyday objects. In 1974, she established the foundation in Nafplio, now called the Basil Papantoniou Foundation (BPF), in memory of her father, Vassilios Papantoniou. To this day, the foundation's mission is to research, preserve, and make accessible Greek culture for future generations.
