In the artist Veronika Moos’s solo exhibition, a poetic interplay between material, perception, and artistic gesture is revealed.
Working with organic materials, assembled structures, and a wide range of found objects from water and land, Veronika Moos develops an autonomous visual language. Rather than imposing a rigid order on things, this language unfolds in a living dialogue between the artist and the material. Her works invite viewers to look more closely and to immerse themselves in a world in which the ephemeral, the fragile, and the resistant become visible and meaningful.
The exhibition brings together thematically distinct spaces that make Veronika Moos’s artistic cosmos tangible. Each space unfolds its own specific effect. Overarching themes such as light and air, weight, flow, archive/organics, or blossoms and garden form a multifaceted picture in which materiality, presence, and narration are intricately interwoven.
Whether knotted flax, shadow-casting algae, floating stones, or threaded blossoms—the works of Veronika Moos are more than mere objects. They are spaces for thought and experience, enabling deep engagement. They pose questions without offering definitive answers, thereby sharpening perception for what is hidden and fragile. Within this open dialogue, a quiet yet compelling aesthetic experience unfolds.
Since 1993, the exhibition series Ortstermin at Kunstmuseum Villa Zanders has offered in-depth insights into the artistic practices of the region and continues to open up exciting perspectives on the spectrum of contemporary forms of expression.
The exhibition is curated by Maike Sturm. A catalogue will be published by Wienand Verlag, Cologne.
