Tarfunn – weaving perspectives
Online Networking Space
11.03.2022

The Goethe-Institut Thailand, atelier savvy und Milena Ordine D'arresto are organizing an interesting online event on 11th March 2022.

Regionally manufactured fabrics are the carriers of local identity and represent an important branch of the Thai economy for small and medium-sized enterprises. Through their national symbolic power, they represent different parts of the country and stand for a sustainable connection between the peripheral regions and the urban centers. However, the growing international interest in handmade products is out of balance with the few future-oriented job prospects for young people.

With the aim of designing new perspectives in textile crafts and creating an attractive education for future generations, we invite you to a networking space as part of tarfunn - weaving perspectives, a joint project initiated by atelier savvy and Milena Magerl in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Thailand, Studio Naenna and the Dr. Robert Dyckerhoff Foundation.

Alongside lectures by local and international actors in textile crafts and textile education, we would like to offer professionally interested people a space for creative exchange, to talk about their own projects or to share practical experiences on the subject of future career prospects in textile crafts in northern Thailand.
