The TEXTILE CULTURE HASLACH Summer Symposium will take place this year from 20 to 31 July 2026. Between the two course weeks, the International Weavers’ Market (WEBERMARKT), including the Faserzone, will be held on the weekend of 25–26 July.

This year’s symposium is centred around the theme “Rethinking Textile Waste.” It explores current issues surrounding overproduction and recycling, questions our approach to fast fashion and production waste, and highlights ideas that view waste as a valuable resource. Several exhibitions and evening events will shed light on different aspects of this broad topic. Naturally, the course programme also reflects this theme: whether weaving, braiding, knitting, or sewing with textile remnants, our instructors will inspire your creativity, breathing new life into materials that may at first appear useless through fresh and innovative ideas.

During the first course week, we offer a full-day excursion on Monday to various textile companies in the Mühlviertel region, which provide production waste materials for the courses. As a result, some courses that use these materials will begin on Tuesday this year. Further details about the accompanying programme and the exhibitions can be found here.
