Region Uppsala continues to collaborate with Quilt Academy of Sweden around the yearly textile art residency Art’n Fiber. The application is now open for this year’s residency period, 4-18 September 2025. The residency welcomes artists who are based in Europe, outside of Sweden. The application deadline is 30 March 2025.
The residency offers a grant of 16,000 SEK and an additional travel allowance up to 5,000 SEK for travel to and from Sweden. The purpose of the residency is to encourage individual creativity and international artist collaboration in textile/fiber art. During the residency, the recipient is invited to give an artist talk at the Uppsala Art Museum, presenting their work and sharing their experience of the stay. The residency grant is addressed to a professional textile/fiber artist, or someone with equally active artistic commitment. The artist should work primarily with textile techniques listed below and have an explicit contemporary focus:

- Artistic embroidery

Textile surface design (fabric printing/dyeing/shibori)

Mixed media that includes stitching and fabrics
