International Competition for Textile Artists living in Europe
Region Uppsala, in collaboration with the Quilt Academy of Sweden and Uppsala Municipality, is announcing the international artist residency Art 'n Fiber for textile artists living in Europe outside of Sweden.
The purpose of the residency is to encourage individual creativity and international artistic collaboration in textile and fiber art. During the residency, the recipient will be invited to give an artist talk at the Uppsala Art Museum, presenting their work and sharing their experience of the residency, as well as hosting a one-day workshop.
The residency takes place from September 22 to October 13, 2026. We offer a grant of 30,000 SEK and an additional travel allowance of up to 5,000 SEK for travel to and from Sweden.
The grant is intended to support a three-week stay in accommodation provided and hosted by the Quilt Academy of Sweden in a charming Swedish country homestead environment on the outskirts of the city of Uppsala.
