ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Art and Fashion. Both disciplines have been intertwined since the 19th century. Based on the focal points of the Heidi Horten Collection - the image of women and the view of women - LOOK shows art and fashion in an inspiring interplay. The spectrum ranges from the rococo to the present, from glamorous divas, modern women of the avant-garde, subtle portraits and psychological portrayals of femininity to accessories with a fetish character and nudes to feminist counterpositions. All of the works belonged to the collector's direct living environment and reveal individual inclinations throughout. LOOK is therefore primarily to be understood as a homage to the museum's founder, Heidi Horten.

The selection of works is impressively complemented by haute couture dresses by Christian Dior, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Patou and Jean-Louis Scherrer, which the collector had exclusively made for her. The creations represent Heidi Horten's sense of elegance and Glamour. In addition, fashion generally reveals a lot about the respective zeitgeist, society and its changes.

LOOK is not actually a fashion exhibition. Rather, a dialogue rich in relationships develops between art and fashion. The concise title of the exhibition plays with the meaning of appearance, appearance and fashion style. He also invites you to discover the feminine touch and thus probably the most personal aspect of the Heidi Horten Collection.
