“Heallreaf” is an old English word meaning a tapestry hung in a public place. It is also the name of an international exhibition of hand-woven tapestry. The organisers, including ETN Member Matty Smith, are delighted to announce its fourth iteration in 2022. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on 1st February 2022.
Selected works will go on display at the following UK venues:
- Farfields Mill, Sedbergh. 19th May – 6th July 2022.
- Oxmarket, Chichester. 13th – 24th September 2022.
- RBSA, Birmingham. 1st – 12th November 2022.
Jurors: Jurors for this exhibition are Ellen Ramsey, winner of the Heallreaf 3 prize and Helen Adams, founder of ‘The Textile Curator’
Heallreaf is a not-for-profit organisation set up in 2015 solely to organise tapestry exhibitions and to promote excellence in this hand woven medium. The exhibition attracts works from all over the world and three prizes will be awarded at Heallreaf 4. There will be a prize awarded by the jurors, one by the visiting public and finally the last is the curators prize.
