After a first life in the world of pharmaceutical laboratories, Françoise Dumas, a chemist by training, was introduced to the art of macramé during a trip to California. She has been living and working in the Nivernais since 1999. Not content with just learning the stitches of this traditional technique, she has turned it on its head to create monumental sculptures in natural materials (cotton, jute, silk, sisal and other trimmings) inspired by the world of Tolkien. She has taken part in numerous international exhibitions (Japan, Mexico) and French ones (Grand Palais, Paris -SEMA).
