Contemporary Craft is announcing Fiberart International 2025 (Fi2025), presented in partnership with Brew House Arts. Fi2025 features works by both established and emerging artists from eight countries, representing a wide spectrum of creativity, materials, techniques and unique perspectives. There will be a soft opening for the exhibition at Contemporary Craft on June 6, 2025. The official opening at Contemporary Craft and Brew House Arts will take place on June 20, with an opening reception from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. The exhibition will be on view through August 30, 2025.
The global community that is woven together through this exhibition naturally reflects a broad international outlook. The selected works for Fi2025 were juried by three distinguished and internationally renowned artists and curators: JOJO ABOT, Louis Ho and Tamara Kostianovsky.
"The 25th iteration of Fiberart International is a dynamic collaboration between Contemporary Craft, Brew House Arts and the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh,” said Yu-San Cheng, Director of Visual Engagement at Contemporary Craft. “This year's exhibition brings together a diverse range of techniques, perspectives, and cultural narratives - which not only demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship but also serve as powerful statements on contemporary issues. Each piece embodies the artist's commitment to their medium while conveying thought-provoking messages to the world."
With over 400 entries from 30 countries, 36 artists were chosen, offering a diverse and engaging representation of contemporary fiber art. The exhibition is globally recognized as a benchmark, documenting trends and innovations in the field. Fi2025 aims to present innovative works rooted in traditional fiber materials, structures, processes and history, while also embracing art that explores unexpected connections between fiber and other creative disciplines. Included works represent vast applications of fiber arts, from quilts and garments to sculpture and installation.
