The 20th textile art exhibition at "art textil sent" in the Lower Engadine, is all about the German artist Monika Sebert.

Monika Sebert grew up with textiles - her mother was a seamstress. But then she chose the path to science, she studied mineralogy. It was only when she was with her family that she turned to textiles again.

In the beginning, blankets and beautiful objects were created that could be used. But that has changed over time – craftsmanship has become art.

Monika searched and found her own language. She researched techniques and materials, refined her skills. What she learned during her academic studies now benefits her. She can take a close look, can analyze. She can also record what she sees by drawing. She can transform lines, forms and structures from nature, from the micro and macrocosm, into textile design.

Impressive works, in an economical use of color - often black and white. They are reduced to the essentials.

Interesting surface structures, wonderful shapes and lines are fascinating. For some time now, filigree objects have also been created. These are very fine, sometimes even transparent, and yet stable.

The exhibition in Sent lasts from 10th to 25th June 2023, it is open every day except Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
