Consuo Textiles - Reflections of South Hill Park

Textile works inspired by the house, its grounds and its 50th anniversary as an arts centre will be displayed in the gallery and throughout the building.  Each of the 16 artists has produced work which showcases diverse materials, narratives and techniques including embroidery, print, weave, knit, mixed media and basketry.

Background information:

Taking their name from the Latin for ’to sew together’ Consuo Textile Art shares a passion for textiles, our life long relationship with cloth and its ability to express our thoughts and feelings.

As well as marking South Hill Park’s 50 years as an arts centre the exhibition is also a celebration of MA Textiles at UCA Farnham.  The members of Consuo were all guided by Professor Lesley Millar during the later years of the MA Textiles course and share a commitment to material and technical excellence which she continues to champion.
