Universitätsprofessur (m/w/d) für Designpraxis für den Studienbereich Lehramt Sekundarstufe
Befristet auf 5 Jahre mit Option der Vergabe an 2 Personen

Die Grundpfeiler des Lehramtsstudiums im Unterrichtsfach Gestaltung: Technik.Textil (für den Unterrichtsgegenstand Technik und Design) am Standort Salzburg lassen sich mit folgenden Fragen thematisieren: How to make? How to think? How to live? Entlang dieses Leitbildes bietet das Studium Raum für das eigenständige schöpferische Gestalten in den Bereichen Design, Körper, Raum und Technik und deren Vermittlung in Schulen. Ausgehend von der Konzeption und der künstlerisch-gestalterischen Umsetzung werden durch das Experimentieren mit Materialien und deren Analyse neue Erkenntnisse gewonnen und Fragen der materiellen Nachhaltigkeit reflektiert. Die Designpraxis – als Prozess von Entwurf, Herstellung, Produktion, Entsorgung und Wiederverwertung – bildet die Grundlage, um Design – von Körper, Hülle und Raum bis zur Umwelt – sowie die materielle(n) Kultur(en) des Textilen in Praxis und Theorie für das Bachelor- und Masterstudium (Lehramt) zu erschließen.
Der Aufgabenbereich der Professur umfasst:
- Lehre im Unterrichtsfach Gestaltung: Technik.Textil, zur Vermittlung von Kenntnissen, Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten des Produkt- und Textildesigns,
- Betreuung der Entwicklung und Durchführung studentischer Projekte,
- Betreuung von wissenschaftlichen Abschlussarbeiten (BA, MA und ggf. PhD),
- Weiterentwicklung des Materialarchivs am Department Bildende Künste und Gestaltung,
- Mitarbeit an der Curriculumsentwicklung/-reform in den Clustern Mitte und West,
- leitende und organisatorische Tätigkeiten im Unterrichtsfach Gestaltung: Technik.Textil und im Department Bildende Künste und Gestaltung,
- Kooperation mit Kolleg*innen sowie mit externen Kultur- und Bildungseinrichtungen.
Wesentliche Voraussetzungen sind:
- ein der Verwendung entsprechendes abgeschlossenes inländisches oder gleichwertiges ausländisches Hochschul- bzw. Universitätsstudium (z.B. im Bereich Design, Textildesign, Produktdesign) mit Abschluss Diplom oder Master,
- Nachweis hervorragender, aktiver Designpraxis/gestalterischer Praxis mit Schwerpunkt auf nachhaltige Materialien,
- praktische Kompetenzen in den fachlichen Kernbereichen,
- eine, der universitären Tätigkeit entsprechende, pädagogische und didaktische Eignung,
- der*die Bewerber*in ist mit den besonderen Anforderungen der Lehre an einer Hochschule oder einer Universität vertraut und in der Lage, sich durch kritische Reflexion in den gegenwärtigen Fachdiskurs einzubringen und diesen zu befördern,
- besonderes Engagement in der Betreuung und Beratung von Studierenden,
- große Teamfähigkeit, ausgezeichnete Kommunikationskompetenz, sowie eine hohe Sensibilität im Bereich Diversität und im Umgang mit Genderthemen,
- Kenntnisse zur aktuellen bildungspolitischen Situation in Österreich (erwünscht),
- Erfahrungen in Lehre und Forschung an Universitäten, Hochschulen oder vergleichbaren tertiären Bildungsinstitutionen (erwünscht),
- facheinschlägige Unterrichtserfahrung in der Sekundarstufe oder außerschulische Vermittlungstätigkeit (erwünscht),
- Erfahrung in interuniversitärer Kooperation und in Zusammenarbeit mit externen Kultur- und Bildungseinrichtungen (erwünscht).
Darüber hinaus erwartet die Universität Mozarteum Salzburg die Bereitschaft,
- an der Entwicklung von Lehr- und Vermittlungskonzepten und am künstlerischen Leben der Universität aktiv teilzunehmen,
- in den Gremien der Universität mitzuarbeiten und gegebenenfalls auch Leitungsaufgaben zu übernehmen,
- sich bei der Entwicklung von Lehrkonzepten, beim Aufbau fachspezifischer Expertise für und mit den Studierenden, bei der Mitgestaltung des künstlerischen Lebens der Universität aktiv zu beteiligen,
- sich an Projektarbeiten sowie an organisatorischen Prozessen der Universität zu beteiligen,
- sich für Fragen der Gleichstellung, Gender und Diversity Studies zu engagieren,
- sich für Nachhaltigkeit zu engagieren.
Die Entlohnung erfolgt entsprechend dem Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer*innen der Universitäten in der Verwendungsgruppe A1 und beträgt in der Grundstufe derzeit mindestens € 6.362,50 Monatsbrutto (bei 100% Beschäftigungsausmaß; bei Vergabe an 2 Personen entsprechend aliquot). Dieses entspricht einem Jahresbruttobezug in Höhe von € 89.075,00 (14 Monatsbezüge, 100%). Sowohl die Bezüge als auch sämtliche andere arbeitsvertragliche Details können Gegenstand von Arbeitsvertragsverhandlungen sein

The scope of the professorship includes:
- Teaching in the subject Design: Technology.Textiles, to impart knowledge, skills and abilities in product and textile design,
- Supervision of the development and realisation of student projects,
- Supervision of academic theses (BA, MA and possibly PhD),
- Further development of the material archive at the Department of Fine Arts and Design,
- Collaboration on curriculum development/reform in the Centre and West clusters,
- Leading and organisational activities in the subject Design: Technology.Textiles and in the Department of Fine Arts and Design,
- Cooperation with colleagues and with external cultural and educational institutions.
Essential requirements are:
- A completed domestic or equivalent foreign college or university degree (e.g. in the field of design, textile design, product design) with a diploma or master's degree appropriate to the application,
- Proof of outstanding, active design practice/creative practice with a focus on sustainable materials,
- practical skills in the core subject areas,
- pedagogical and didactic aptitude commensurate with university activities,
- the applicant is familiar with the special requirements of teaching at a college or university and is able to contribute to and promote current discourse in the subject area through critical reflection,
- special commitment to the supervision and counselling of students,
- great ability to work in a team, excellent communication skills, as well as a high level of sensitivity in the area of diversity and in dealing with gender issues,
- Knowledge of the current educational policy situation in Austria (desirable),
- Experience in teaching and research at universities, colleges or comparable tertiary educational institutions (desirable),
- subject-related teaching experience at secondary level or extracurricular teaching activities (desirable),
- experience in inter-university co-operation and in collaboration with external cultural and educational institutions (desirable).
