Die Künstlerin Monika Häußler-Göschl ist dem Textilen Medium eng verbunden: Sie war lange Jahre in der Produktentwicklung der Textilbranche als Schnittdirektrice und Bekleidungstechnikerin tätig. Danach studierte sie in England Textil und schloss das Studium mit einem Master am Royal College of Art in London ab. Seitdem ist sie als freie Künstlerin tätig.
Ihr Spezialgebiet ist zwar Strick, aber sie liebt auch das Experimentieren mit anderen Materialien oder Techniken, lässt sich von den dabei entstehenden Möglichkeiten inspirieren und setzt diese dann auf ganz eigene Weise um. Themen wie Natur, Ressourcen oder Wandel und Transformation, die eigentlich Konstanten in unser aller Leben sind, ziehen sich wie ein roter Faden durch viele ihrer Arbeiten.
Sie schätzt das Unberechenbare, das nicht Nicht-Perfekte, und integriert diesen Aspekt oft in ihren Arbeitsprozess.
In der Ausstellung StrickArt im Maschenmuseum in Albstadt legt sie außerdem einen Schwerpunkt auf die „Kunst des Reparierens“, angelehnt an die japanische Kunst des BORO, und bietet im Rahmen der Sonderausstellung dazu am Samstag, 2.3. ab 14 Uhr einen Workshop an. Zur Finissage am 14.4.2024 um 15 Uhr sind alle Interessierten ebenfalls herzlich eingeladen. Wir freuen uns auf Ihren Besuch!
Die neue Ausstellung kann ab sofort zu den Öffnungszeiten des Maschenmuseums besichtigt werden (Mittwoch, Samstag, Sonntag 14 bis 17 Uhr).

The artist Monika Häußler-Göschl is closely connected to the textile medium: She worked for many years in product development in the textile industry as a pattern director and clothing technician. She then studied textiles in England and graduated with a Master's degree from the Royal College of Art in London. Since then she has worked as a freelance artist.
Although she specialises in knitwear, she also loves experimenting with other materials and techniques, being inspired by the possibilities that arise and then realising them in her very own way. Themes such as nature, resources or change and transformation, which are actually constants in all our lives, run like a red thread through many of her works.
She appreciates the unpredictable, the imperfect, and often integrates this aspect into her work process.
In the StrickArt exhibition at the Maschenmuseum in Albstadt, she is also focusing on the "art of repair", based on the Japanese art of BORO, and is offering a workshop on this subject as part of the special exhibition on Saturday, 2 March from 2 pm.
