The European Quilt Triennial was held for the seventh time in 2018. From more than 160 entries, the international jury selected 41 works, which will be on show from 14 February to 19 April 2020 at the Textile Museum St. Gallen.

The show brings together a broad spectrum of techniques, concepts and motifs that reflect, among other things, the artists' view of issues of time, historical events or biographical circumstances. The picture language moves between concrete-objective interpretation and purely abstract composition. With a high level of artisanship, the selected works reveal both the connection to textile traditions and the search for innovative forms of expression. Once again, the 7th European Quilt Triennial proves the extraordinary level of contemporary artistic quilting.

Artists from eleven European countries are represented, including Judith Mundwiler from Switzerland, who was honoured with the Doris Winter Memorial Prize for her innovative power and joy of experimentation. The work Nightmare by the young quilter Malou Cecille van Draanen Glisman and the large-format work Linear by Urte Hanke were also honoured.
