History of the Sprang technique in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
The presentation is aimed at the textile sprang technique history in the Czech Republic and Slovakia where it was traditionally used to make parts of folk costumes – bonnets and belts. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century and then in the 1960s to 1980s sprang was also used for making a wide scale of daily use subjects from dresses to blankets. The current trends of using this traditional technique will also be mentioned.

Born in 1978. For more than 15 years she has been intensively engaged in sprang technique. Her focus is on the traditional concept of sprang lace as well as on promoting this technique and its contemporary use.
