Spinning Stories - Living Archives: Continuity and Innovation of a Vanishing Textile Heritage
Spinning Stories – Living Archives is an arts-based research project by Karin Altmann and Nana Opoku, funded by the University of Applied Arts Vienna. It bridges traditional spinning practices across Global South and North through the narratives of women who were engaged in the process of spinning and textile production throughout their lives, but may never have received recognition. The aim is to create a transcultural learning community that merges ancestral craft and wisdom with emerging technologies to envision sustainable futures in textile arts.
