Collection Flügel: A source of inspiration at the Textile Centre Haslach
The German textile educator Marianne Flügel travelled all her life and collected various textile everyday objects in various primary techniques. She analysed them, partly reworked them and searched for the uniting language of textiles worldwide. Her work documents a "textile view" and pays tribute to the many, mostly unnoticed little things that are often cleverly made. The wonderful collection of ethnographic samples and didactic preparations has been donated to the Textile Centre Haslach and is now used for exhibitions, workshops and research.
