Biofabrique Vienna – A Bioregional Design Practice

Biofabrique Vienna is developing a novel model of bioregional material cycles in urban areas.

The project sees itself as a real-world laboratory for material innovation, design research, and urban circular economy – with the aim of creating a Europe-wide model for sustainable, urban-regional value chains.

With the second edition – “Wiener Farben” (Viennese Colors) – material development will be expanded to include natural pigments from bioregional waste materials. The aim is to create an ecologically and culturally anchored “Viennese color palette” as an alternative to globalized standard color systems.
